How the Name & Date Photo Maker Works

A separate text strip sits below the photograph inside the final output dimensions. The photo area becomes shorter; the strip does not cover your face. The final image is JPEG and can be resized and compressed using the selected preset.

  1. Upload and crop your photo with your face visible.
  2. Enter the required name and date in the editor.
  3. Process to generate the text strip and review its readability in the preview.
  4. Check final dimensions, actual KB and JPEG format.
  5. Download and reopen the saved image to check the text.

When TNPSC May Ask for Name and Date on a Photo

Requirements can vary by recruitment and application workflow. Add a strip only if your current notification or form requests it. The general resize guideline does not establish a universal name/date requirement, and Group IV 2026-specific requirements remain pending verification.

TNPSC general photo guidance

  • Horizontal: 300–400 px
  • Vertical: 250–400 px
  • Format: JPG/JPEG
  • File size: below 50 KB

The guideline does not state a minimum KB size. “Below” is a strict limit; leave a margin. A passed settings check is not application approval.

How to Create a Clear Name & Date Strip

Use the spelling requested by the application and the date specified in its instructions. Text is centered and fitted to the available width. Check the saved image at full size; readable text matters more than a small preview.

Common Problems

A very long name may not fit at a readable font size. The tool reports this rather than silently truncating it; use a permitted shorter spelling or larger output only if your form allows it. A wrong date, cropped face or unreadable text can still make the photo unsuitable. A very simple image may fall below the starting minimum KB even at full quality.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add my name and date to a TNPSC photo?

Upload and crop a photo, enter your name and date, then process it. Check the strip below the photograph in the final JPEG, download it and reopen the saved file.

What date should I enter?

Follow your notification. If it asks for the date of the photograph, enter the actual date it was taken. The tool does not verify that date or automatically choose the correct date for your application.

Can I use a long name?

Yes, within the space available at a readable font size. The tool fits the name and reports an error if it cannot remain readable; it does not silently cut off the text. Check the downloaded JPEG.

Does adding the strip change the photo size?

The final pixel dimensions stay at the selected settings, but the photo area is shorter to leave room for the strip. Text may also change the file’s KB size, so check the complete processed output.

Is the image processed locally?

Your images are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our server. No registration is needed, and the site does not save your image.

Is name and date required for every TNPSC application?

Requirements can vary. Check the current notification and application instructions. TNPSC general resize guidance does not confirm a name/date mandate for every recruitment, and Group IV 2026-specific requirements remain pending verification.
