TNPSC Group 4 Photo Requirements

TNPSC requirements may vary by recruitment and application workflow. The tool’s starting settings are product defaults. Group IV 2026-specific photo requirements remain pending verification; check Notification No. 11/2026 and your application instructions before submission.

TNPSC general photo guidance

  • Horizontal: 300–400 px
  • Vertical: 250–400 px
  • File size: below 50 KB
  • Format: JPG/JPEG

The general guideline does not specify a minimum KB value. “Below 50 KB” is a strict limit; the starting 20–50 KB target is a separate tool setting. Leave a margin and check the actual downloaded file size.

How to Compress Your TNPSC Group 4 Photo

  1. Upload. Choose a JPG/JPEG, PNG or WebP photo and review its original dimensions and size.
  2. Crop. Drag to keep your face and shoulders visible. Use the zoom control or pinch on a phone; the fixed-ratio crop avoids stretching.
  3. Check settings. Compare the starting dimensions and KB target with your current application instructions. If different settings are required, use the TNPSC Photo Compressor linked below.
  4. Process. Select Resize & compress. Review the output dimensions, file size and JPG format. A passed check means the file matches the selected settings.
  5. Download. Save the JPG, reopen it and check the actual pixels and KB before submitting.

If compression cannot meet the target, the tool explains the failed check. A small or simple image may remain below the minimum, while detailed images may exceed the maximum. Use a clearer original or settings permitted by your application.

Before You Upload to TNPSC

  • Read the latest notification and current application instructions.
  • Check that your face is clearly visible and the crop preserves important details.
  • Confirm the downloaded image’s actual width and height.
  • Check its actual KB size and leave a margin below a strict maximum.
  • Confirm JPG/JPEG format where required.
  • Reopen the downloaded file to check image clarity before uploading it.

Why Can TNPSC Photo Requirements Look Different Online?

Different recruitments, older instructions and application workflows can use different photo parameters. A general resize guide may describe a range, while a specific application may add further instructions.

TNPSC Photo separates general TNPSC guidance from exam-specific requirements and displays verification status. Starting settings help you prepare a file; they are not confirmation of the latest Group IV rules. Always compare your saved image with the current official instructions.

Frequently asked questions

What is the TNPSC Group 4 photo size for 2026?

Group IV 2026-specific photo requirements remain pending verification. The current TNPSC general resize guideline gives 300–400 px horizontal, 250–400 px vertical, below 50 KB and JPG/JPEG. The tool’s 300 × 400 px / 20–50 KB starting settings are product defaults, not verified Group IV requirements. Check Notification No. 11/2026 and the current application instructions before submitting.

Can I compress my TNPSC Group 4 photo to 50 KB?

You can process a photo using the 50 KB maximum starting setting. The general TNPSC guideline says below 50 KB, so leave a margin and check the saved file’s actual bytes. This tool displays KB using 1,024 bytes; staying below 50,000 bytes also avoids ambiguity with decimal KB. A settings check does not confirm official acceptance.

Does my photo get uploaded?

No. Your images are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our server. No registration is required, and we do not save your photos.

Can I use a PNG photo?

Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG/JPEG or WebP image. This tool exports a JPG, so check the downloaded file’s format, dimensions and size before submitting it to TNPSC.

Why is my TNPSC photo being rejected?

Check the current notification and application instructions. Rejection can result from a wrong format, dimensions or file size, or an unclear face, unsuitable background or outdated photograph. Reopen the downloaded file to check it. Passing the tool’s selected settings does not guarantee acceptance.

Is this an official TNPSC website?

TNPSC Photo is an independent utility and is not affiliated with TNPSC. Use the official TNPSC notification and application portal to confirm submission requirements.
